"New Year's Eve 1989/1990 under Brandenburg Gate. It rained and the Gate was a wonderful shelter. As blood alcohol levels rose so did the atmosphere (as well as the amount of empty bottles on the asphalt). As time passed the amount of empty champagne bottles increased. It was difficult to not trip over them."
