Original Caption

"Hastily erected Federal Border Guard customs booths ready to greet streams of visitors and Trabi cars expected from Thuringia (people mostly came to collect their 'welcome money' and to do their first shopping in the 'West' in the department stores in Tann and Fulda). They also expected lots of visitors from the West who wanted to visit Thuringia."
