Csilla Freifrau von Boeselager, co-founder of the Hungarian Malteser-Caritas organization, and an employee of the Malteser aid agency hang a Malteser flag; Malteser initiated a large-scale refugee operation on 27 August 1989: "10 000 refugees from East Germany are cared for in three camps before entering West Germany."
